2022 ACA Open Canoe Slalom Nationals

Slalom Onsite Camping

The group camping site is two miles downriver from the slalom location at the site of the combined downriver takeout. Camping will be allowed from July 5th through the 10th. We will provide porta potties and a dumpster Tuesday through Sunday.

Camping is in a grass field. This is an undeveloped site. There is no water. You will be able to fill up water jugs at the race site. There is limited shade. We will set up a large group tent on site. No open fires will be allowed. Camp stoves and propane grills will be allowed.

Onsite camping is for tents, small trailers (less than 25 feet) and small self contained units such as camper vans and truck campers. No fifth wheels or motorhomes.

Entry to the area is from US Hwy 50 turning South onto Raynolds Ave. Proceed exactly 1 mile south and turn right just past the fenced dog park. Camping will be in the open field south of the dog park.

There are many additional sites that people can camp on such as BLM lands surrounding Cañon City that are available for dispersed camping but may require a long drive to get to the race course. Please obtain a BLM or Forest service map for the area and know the rules if you plan on camping on public lands.

Dumpstations in Cañon City:
Conoco - 2801 East Main Street
Exxon - 420 Royal Gorge Blvd

There are several RV parks near the entrance to the Royal Gorge park off of highway 50 about 8 miles upriver as well as a few downriver towards Pueblo.
